Registration now open for International Congress!

44th International Congress for the History of Pharmacy logoAIHP is pleased to announce that registration for the 44th International Congress for the History of Pharmacy is now open. People planning to attend the Congress can register online at the official website for the Congress.

The cost for full registration for the four-day conference (September 5-8, 2019) is $455 through May 14, 2019. That price covers all plenary and podium sessions, lunch on Friday and Saturday, and special receptions on Thursday and Friday evenings. Tickets for the closing gala/banquet on Saturday evening cost an additional $95 per person. Students can register at the special discounted price of $190 through May 14.

All registration rates increase slightly after May 14. Single day registration is also available.

All Congress events will be held at the Capital Hilton, the venue for the Congress, except for the Friday evening events. which will be held at the historic headquarters of the American Pharmacists Association on Constitution Avenue. The reception that evening will be held on the top-floor outdoor terrace of the APhA building, overlooking the Lincoln Memorial.

Registrants can also sign up for various special scientific tours that AIHP has organized for Congress attendees. Options include:

  • A tour of the U.S. National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland;
  • A tour of the USP laboratories and museum in Rockville, Maryland;
  • A tour of the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC); and
  • A water taxi cruise across the Potomac River followed by a tour of the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum in Alexandria, Virginia.

People planning to attend the International Congress can also make reservations at the Capital Hilton at the special group rate of $199/night.

We seek to record the effects of this public health emergency on all types of pharmacy experiences. We invite you to share your pharmacy stories, photos, videos, artifacts, and other documentation of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

You can participate in the AIHP COVID-19 Pandemic Pharmacy Historical Documentation Project either (1) by immediately sharing your thoughts/experiences and/or submitting digital materials or (2) by signifying your to intention to submit materials in the future. Please comply with all applicable local or state stay-at-home orders while self-documenting.
