The American Institute of the History of Pharmacy is pleased to announce the opening of the competition for the 2022 AIHP Glenn Sonnedecker Prize. AIHP awards the Sonnedecker Prize to the author(s) of the best unpublished manuscript received in our annual competition on a topic within the field of the history of pharmacy and pharmaceuticals.
The Prize is aimed at graduate students and early career researchers (ECRs). (See eligibility requirements below). Co-authored papers are eligible for submission, provided that all listed authors meet eligibility requirements.
The recipient of the AIHP Glenn Sonnedecker Prize will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize (co-authored papers will split the cash award), and the manuscript will be published in AIHP’s journal, History of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals, upon successful completion of peer- and editorial-review processes.
The deadline for submission of manuscripts is June 1, 2022. The manuscript should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org using the subject heading “Sonnedecker Prize Submission.”
Submitted manuscripts will be evaluated and judged by a panel comprised of the Institute’s Historical Director and members of the Editorial Board of History of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals. AIHP will announce the recipient of the 2022 Sonnedecker Prize in August 2022.
