The images above were taken from the AIHP’s Drug Topics Photo Collection. The photograph of the young woman was taken in 1970 at the Accredited Surgical Co. headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland and shows her receiving “a pharmacy order from a nursing home minutes after it was placed.” The photograph of the men was taken in 1968 at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and shows them using what Drug Topics calls a “mechanical brain”–an early computer used in their research program.
